White Horse Inn Discussion Group North Hills - Do We All Worship the Same God?

Are Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam and Christianity simply different paths to the same destination? What right do you have to claim that your religion is the only true religion and all others are false? Don’t claims of absolute truth lead to religious extremism and violence? These questions are commonplace in our tolerance based, “coexist” American culture....Keep Reading

A Wonderful Missions Sunday

The divine mandate of our Lord Jesus Christ to go into all the world, make disciples of all nations, baptize them in the Triune name, and teach them to observe everything he has commanded, as taught in Matthew 28:18-20, provides the basis from and the impetus for which The Missions Committee goes about its ministry. In her effort to be true to the Word of God, the Reformed Faith, and obedient to the Great Commission, Valley Presbyterian Church (VPC) created The Missions Committee, under the oversight of VPC’s Session, to support the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. Since the good news of Jesus Christ’s doing, dying, and rising for sinners is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes, The Missions Committee aims to further the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ in order that God may continue to save and sanctity a people for himself from every tribe and language, and people, and nation (Rev. 5:8-10) ....Keep Reading

Here we pause first and foremost because we don’t ever want to assume the gospel or move beyond the gospel. The gospel has been described as a pool of water that is small enough for a baby to wade but deep enough for an elephant to swim....Keep Reading

Don't Forget

Paul here feels it is necessary to “remind” the Corinthians of the gospel which he preached to them such a short time ago (v.1) I have always found it rather ironic that the two things we know, without a doubt, which Paul received directly from the Lord Jesus Christ have to do with the Gospel, both its audible and visible forms (Galatians 1:11-12 and 1 Corinthians 11:23-25). One can conclude that for the Lord Jesus Christ the content of the preached Gospel and the words of institution to the Lord’s Supper are of such great importance for the health of his Church...Keep Reading
