Some of the many verses in Scripture
that teach us the importance of using our reason with our faith
Science
and Faith
(Rom 1:20-23 NIV) For since the creation of the
world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine
nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has
been made, so that men are without excuse. {21} For although they
knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to
him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts
were darkened. {22} Although they claimed to be wise, they became
fools {23} and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images
made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
(Psa 19:1-3 NIV) For the director of music. A
psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies
proclaim the work of his hands. {2} Day after day they pour forth
speech; night after night they display knowledge. {3} There is no
speech or language where their voice is not heard.

that full well.
(1 Pet 3:14-15 NIV) But even if you should
suffer for what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what
they fear ; do not be frightened." {15} But in your hearts
set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to
everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you
have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
(Isa 1:18 NIV) "Come now, let us reason
together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like

in the law stood up to test Jesus. "Teacher," he asked,
"what must I do to inherit eternal life?" {26}
"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do
you read it?" {27} He answered: "'Love the Lord your
God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
strength and with all your mind' ; and, 'Love your neighbor as
yourself.'" {28} "You have answered correctly,"
Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."
(Neh 8:8 NIV) They read from the Book of the
Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the
people could understand what was being read.

conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.

together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like
scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as
crimson, they shall be like wool.

foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place;

discernment, do not let them out of your sight;
(Pr 4:5) Get wisdom, get understanding; do not
forget my words or swerve from them.

soul; he who cherishes understanding prospers.
